Ski Regina Track Attack video by Frozen Finger Films!

Goals and Focus

The Track Attack program and Junior Nordic Racing program are cross country ski programs typically aimed at skiers aged 9 to 15 who are committed to improving their skiing technique and fitness and who also want an introduction to training and racing. Each young skier is coached at the Learn to Train level following Cross Country Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development Program of the NCCP system.

The Track Attack program is offered by the Regina Ski Club for young skiers who have participated in the Jackrabbit program or reached a comparable level of skiing proficiency. The program is designed to build on the fundamentals of skiing gained through the Jackrabbit program and to promote the continued physical and skill development of young cross-country skiers.

The program recognizes that this is an important period for motor development and window of optimal trainability for motor-coordination. The training is intended to encourage enjoyment of the sport and will focus on learning and refining ski technique and improving overall physical condition. The young skiers will be introduced to training and racing in a fun and encouraging environment. The skiers will be given the opportunity to participate at local races, to try Sask Cup Races, and to try out for the Saskatchewan Winter Games.
